libstring-truncate-perl software package provides Perl module to truncate long strings, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libstring-truncate-perl
libstring-truncate-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libstring-truncate-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libstring-truncate-perl *
You will get with libstring-truncate-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
